Oh i love your tote bag, and have been looking for a similar pattern, i tried the mccalls web-page, but had no idea where to find it, do you remember what section or link it is on??? :) :) :)

Marcia 10-21-2008 06:54 PM

I really like your purse-your fabric selection is great for it. Sure doesn't look like a first try!

Janstar 10-21-2008 07:27 PM

Barb, a friend gave me the pattern and that was written on it. I'll see if I can find out more. Jan

Janstar 10-21-2008 07:28 PM

Also it used Moda fabric. That might help.

PrettyKitty 10-21-2008 11:57 PM

Jan I love that! I would be interested in the pattern too, its about time I tried making a tote

Oh Jan, please don't go to any trouble. The links Mary just gave were great, the links said the measurements of the tote, which is what i really liked, i've been thinking of winging my own pattern, and liked the size and shape of this one, your tote is so cute :)

Quilt4u 10-22-2008 01:28 AM

Love it. Great job.

reneebobby 10-22-2008 02:34 AM

Very pretty tote. I have this pattern but haven't done it yet, just the bow tucks one.

PrettyKitty 10-22-2008 03:23 AM

All the best patterns always are on US sites. The cost of shipping to the UK would make it cost prohibitive for me to buy it :(

Do they ever do a digital version of the pattern that they can email to you if you buy it? Cuts out the cost of shipping?

I love this bag! Want to make one (stamps her feet!)

tlrnhi 10-22-2008 03:37 AM

Most totes start with a 17" square. You could count the squares on the tote and figure it out from there.

Cathy_B-Quiltin 10-22-2008 03:40 AM

That is very nice! Love it! But really love the log cabin blocks on the wall behind it! Great colors!

judee0624 10-22-2008 12:33 PM

:D :D :D Great job! Have you seen mine? DH thinks I should have a closure, but the LQS said no. Too late to put on a magnetic clasp. Made a note to add it before putting the lining onto the front and back.
The one I made for Spring was a big hit. Don't you just love these totes?

judee

estherblair 10-22-2008 04:15 PM

Jhittle has great prices on magnetic snaps. That's where I order mine from. Yes, gotta get them on before it all is put together. Same as with putting in pockets. I made a "surprise" tote for someone special (no, they haven't gotten it as of yet) and when I was done, I hung my head when I realized I didn't put in pockets. :( :( But, I'm sure this person will just love the tote anyway.
Ok, now I have everyone's curiosity peeked, huh? lol Nope, not telling, not giving any hints either, except it's going to someone on the board. :) :)

bluebird 10-22-2008 07:36 PM

Great purse, love the pocket, really finishes it off.

retrogirl02 10-23-2008 07:43 AM
