I wouldn't recommend, as there is no stretch and would be harder to keep on a bald head. You could try repurposing an old t-shirt. I ended up with a faded spot on the front of a peach one from trying to remove a stain. The back will be a new turban for someone. (I am a plus size, you need 22" width of fabric.) You could incorporate one of the existing seams into the back tho'. Just thought about that option. Will have to try it! Penny (pgthom) in Kalamazoo

Here are more turbans and fabrics. I have made 14 so far. Some are made of t-shirt knits, some of stretchy velour, some of lightly stretchy soft terry cloth, and I have a new fabric I just bought still to make that is a stretch satin, so it can be worn at night and will "slide" on the pillow, and will keep bare heads warm. Where is a good place to get a "head"?

I got my styrofoam head at a beauty supply store, but don't recall which one. Don't think it matters, though - likely they all have some. Quite inexpensive, also, and very useful. Good luck and happy turban sewing.

These are terrific. My DD had cancer at 19 years old and would not wear a wig when her hair fell out. She wore the scarfs and everyone called them doo-rags. My heart just ached when she was in a public restroom and some blankety blank "lady" called her a "dyke". She came out crying and told me why. She wouldn't let me go and find the woman--I guess it was a good thing as I would have told her off and made such a scene! Maybe if my DD would have had a turban like this in a "young" pattern she would not have had to endure such insensitivity.
By the way, she is now 32 and has been cancer free for over 10 years--praise the Lord!!
