I am so sorry :( That must be so disappointing...
I do believe you have to keep all of your sewing/cutting lines on the bias...

I see what you did. The part on the right is perfect. The part on the left is the wrong angle. Next time, pretend that the last row of the "good" stitching is the bottom of your fabric (turn it so it is parallel to the table) then butt a ruler up against the line - that gives you the perpendicular line (the 45 degrees in the OPPOSITE direction)
