Chevron Quilts

An earlier discussion about how to quilt a Chevron made me decide to go ahead and post the two I've done. I did both in a similar fashion but the FMQ on my second one (the one with the flowers in front) is the better of the two. I think I'm finally beginning to get a grip on this FMQ stuff - not that I'm thinking feathers and fancy curls are anywhere near my future! :D

But I'm happy with what skills I've begun to develop. I do seem to find the loopy pattern to be easier for me than a stipple or anything else. Even the time or two that I was able to use a longarm I found that to be the case.

So here they are. They were made a few months apart but I used the same "friendly to fat quarters" pattern that you can find here. http://www.limasews.com/2012/10/chev...orial-and.html

Great quilts! What is the name of the pretty flowering bush in your pictures?

WOW. I love them both.

they are both beautiful. I spy some riley blake rainy days in the second one...love that fabric. Quilting doesn't always have to be feathers and fancy. What you did is just perfect for the pattern. :)
