Chickens in my studio
1 Attachment(s)
I machine embroidered raw edge applique chickens. After washing, the raw edges fluff out. I've never done raw edge applique before. I was unsure about the unfinished look of it, but, I decided it gives the chickens a country look. It was fun picking fabric scraps that looked like chickens. I really like the speckled ones. The design is from Embroidery Library. I decided to make potholders as I have made several large quilts that now need long arm quilting. I need to finish projects, not add to my UFO closet, yes, closet. I'm sure you understand.

That was a great idea, those make such cute pot holders.

How cute! The little speckled one is my favorite, but the others are really cute also. I am a fan of real live chickens. They think they are so self-reliant as they go skittering along on those skinny legs. And they are so productive! :)

Nice idea! They are great chickens ... perfect for the kitchen.

I purchased those designs too. I appreciate you posting the finished look. I did not really know if I would like the raw edges, but yours look great. I am a chicken fanatic with a pen full of beautiful Cochins and want to make mine in colors that resemble my favorite hens.
