Another little one to practice machine quilting. I'm getting a little better at it! :D

Sock dog my daughter named "Hughburt." My first attempt at toy making.

Harmony 06-24-2008 02:32 PM

Awesome quilt! I love ANYTHING with lots of white in it! I love the reds in this one too!

Roben 06-24-2008 02:37 PM

barnbum 06-24-2008 02:47 PM

Wow--that is so unique. It's so simple--yet just lovely. The color options are endless!!

mgshaw 06-24-2008 02:56 PM

Love the reds!!!!! I have always liked the Chinese Coins pattern, so simple but lots of impact!! Hughburt is so cute too! Where did you find the pattern for him?

Chele 06-24-2008 03:17 PM

You guys make me blush! Thank you. Hughburt is a combination between a sock monkey pattern and something else I saw. Here are my inspirations for the dog: http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1104 and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/1557885168/ref=dp_otherviews_0?ie=UTF8&s=books&img=0

I'd love to make the dog in the picture, but I don't get the "concept." Any ideas, oh talented ones? I could buy the book! LOL!

Loretta, I do remember sock monkeys! Growing up, my best friend had one that I always admired. Another wonderful friend bought me my own a couple of years ago! I think they're so clever!

adyldrop 06-24-2008 03:31 PM

I think your doggie came quite close!!! It's sooooo cute!!!! And I love the blanket. Something about reds and whites for a baby or small blanket. Always looks good. I think I read some where babies really respond well to red too. Hmmm. Ya listening Henry?? LOL  8)

jacquemoe 06-24-2008 04:49 PM

That's pretty cool, Chele. I can see that your stitch in the ditch is better than mine. LOL

Love the quilt - the red and white is beautiful. Chinese coins is another one on my list. I recently bought 3 "Chinese pieces" in blue and white and you have given me an idea for down the road!!! Thanks.

so pretty! I love the simplicity of Chinese Coins, but especially the one in red/white you have shown.. I saw another one you posted somewhere on here, but just lost it, and can't figure out where it is, lol.. So found this one, and liked it even more.
Thanks for sharing your photo - awesome job!
karen
ps. heres a photo of mine done without binding, and backing at the time.. I ended up doing it with the same turquoise color, but with little butterflies in pinks, and purples, and turquoise. Turned out very cute for the baby donation quilts I make for our mountain town's pregnancy center here..

I may just like the dog even more than the quilt, and I really like the quilt! You've got talent.

oksewglad 07-19-2010 07:19 PM

White's your signature, right? Like the alternating white with the print; doggie's cute, too.
