Christmas gift quilt
Hello Lovely Board!
I love making quilts for my mother in law. She loves quilts and and so naturally I love making them for her. With all the challenges of getting fabric last year, I decided to gamble with ordering a bolt of calico from Marshall’s Dry Goods. I say gamble because I had never purchased their fabric. Turns out, the fabric was great and I ordered more. Because I was making a king size quilt, I needed a lot of fabric, therefore ordering an entire bolt made sense. For the background, I used Kona white from a bolt I had on hand. The pattern is a simple Irish chain and I quilted it on my domestic machine with a walking foot. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...c62849_c_d.jpg Thanks for looking! |

Love your simple, but eloquent vintage quilt. Sometimes I forget how the simple patterns really rise to the occasion and shine. Thanks for the reminder!
