Christmas quilt for a friend
3 Attachment(s)
This is a quilt that I started in a class at my favorite quilt shop. I wanted to give it to a friend for Christmas, so I worked on it instead of the Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt. My friend was diagnosed this fall with an aggressive form of ALS. She may not make it to next Christmas. The pattern is called Archer, but I forget the designer.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and good wishes. It is a very sad situation. My friend is someone who has a giving heart and a generous spirit. She has always been good with words, doing lots of writing, and has had a lovely singing voice which I often heard at church. She said she has been putting up stories on Caring Bridge because she doesn't want to dwell on her health. I thought the fabrics in the quilt mirrored her personality and attitude.

That's a lively quilt in both color and pattern. When we make quilts for someone with a terminal diagnosis, it really has an impact on us, as well as for them. I'm so sorry for her ALS , but I"m glad she has a thoughtful like you to help bring her some joy.
