i love the quilt. must have been a lot of work to do those tiny snowball corners... but they really make the squares special. as for the quilting, i'd go back to elementary school paper snowflakes, folding the paper in half, then thirds. when i cut one i like, i'd use that to make a firmer template of template plastic. snowflakes would be perfect on that quilt.

LOL! Those cut-off corners were a mistake. I don't have a pattern, and it simply didn't occur to me that sewing the blocks this way would cut off the corners. But in the end, I really like the effect of it. I like that they're called "snowball corners." That's perfect for the theme of this quilt.

Thanks so much for your idea. I had thought about doing the elementary school type snowflake, but I'm just not very good at it. I played around with it but so far don't like anything I came up with. Maybe I need to play some more.

What a great idea!!!! I'm going to look up snowflake cookie cutters now. It'd be even better if I could find a set with 3-4 different designs.

For suggestions on Christmas quilts I always look at my cookie cutters, christmas cards, and any Christmas books I have on hand. the website quiltscomplete.com I always look through as well for ideas.
