I had my pattern for a few weeks. I kept looking at it and reading it but was afraid to start. Once I did start, it's not near as difficult as it looks, at least to me, it looks difficult.

As I type I'm doing my 3rd fall color one. My first was in Christmas colors. I really enjoy making them. They make really great gifts. Yours reminds me of Christmas candy.:)

azwendyg 11-17-2010 07:40 PM

I just finished my 3rd one tonight too. I even did some FMQ on this one just for fun.

lizpatterson1 11-17-2010 07:41 PM

That really looks nice - especially with the Christmas material.

Beautiful, this is the first I have seen of this one. Really is eye catching.

Surely you don't mean that you haven't seen other Spicy Spiral Table Runners? If so, search for 'Spicy Spiral', there are many really goodlooking runners done by our members.

Beautiful - I've never seen them either - I'm gonna look them up, because I definitely would love to make one for my mother.

littlehud 11-17-2010 08:36 PM

Thanks for sharing. Your table runner is really pretty. I like you have had the pattern for several weeks and keep reading the instructions and thinking not sure if I can do it. I know I just need to take the plunge.

raptureready 11-18-2010 04:43 AM

Your's is beautiful!!! I made one but didn't have a pattern--just the ruler. It took me almost all night to figure it out but it was fun. Mine's more "fiesta" looking since I used batiks that were turquoise, purple, pink and orange.

dmyers 11-18-2010 05:36 AM

i'm nervous to start too. i've tried with scrap fabric and had a hard time keeping my left edge straight after cutting the right side and turn it to cut the left side. when you cut the wedges did you mark the lines to cut or just rotary cut them down the ruler?

I didn't mark anything. I just used the ruler and the rotary cutter. It would be very helpful if you could cut at a table that you could walk around. That way, you wouldn't have to move the fabric. My cutting table is against the wall. Next time, I will set up another table temporarily so I could walk around and not slide the fabric. Trust me, I'm the weakest link in this quilting/sewing stuff and it was easier than I thought. The cutting was the hardest, but once you do it (start it) it makes more sense.

Prissnboot 11-18-2010 05:59 AM

I wanna make one with pinks and use it as a wall hanging!

Connie in CO 11-18-2010 06:08 AM

OK,nobody asked where did you find the pattern?

kriscraft99 11-18-2010 06:09 AM

I agree ~ it is absolutely gorgeous... one day I'll get the nerve, but it will be a while!

You will need the ruler and the pattern.

I can't believe that ya'll have not seen the other runners on this board. They are much better than mine. Search for them, you will be impressed.

I love yours, I have made 2 now but not liking my fabric selection on either, very much. I sure hope picking colours and fabrics gets easier someday!

Bobbinchick 11-18-2010 10:31 AM

Very nice. I have my 2nd one cut out and I'm going to sew it together today. It'll be a gift for some one at Christmas. Every one enjoy your day. Huggies, Fay

Lynneander 11-18-2010 11:51 AM

That is going to be perfect on your holiday table!

Airwick156 01-07-2011 10:47 AM

My mom bought the spicy spiral pattern and also the ruler thingy you use for it. Don't know why she did, she most likely will not ever make it. But then again..who knows but she has so many patterns and stuff that she doesn't use. ;( This is one that I really hope that she will make.
