Someone posted a link to a tree skirt like this, and I just had to make it. I used the opposite wedges to make some scrappy stockings. The set will be a gift for DD and her family. They only have one DD now, so they will have stockings for a growing family and/or guests during the holidays.

How gorgeous!!! I love the buttons and loops for closing the tree skirt. And how clever of you to make enough stockings for future Christmases and a growing family.

I love it! You are very smart to make spare stockings now while you have the coordinating fabric. I don't know that I could make a bargello on the curve.

Wanda posted the pattern on page 1 (thanks, Wanda). I didn't follow it exactly, but pretty close. It wasn't really difficult with the 10 degree ruler. I had already read up on bargello, so had an idea of how it works.
Glad you all like it! |
I actually bought the fabric to make this and ahhh - never got it cut.
Yours look fantastic and will motivate me to get mine finished before next Christmas!!! |
Dj yours is beautiful too. Smart use of the unused wedges thanks for a great tip.
|
That is beautiful.
|
Gorgeous. I like the buttons and loops to keep it from gapping. I want one.
|
This is absolutely gorgeous.....Why is it December provides the most motivation? Still with all my projects to finish, this will have to be a 2011 project. I love your button closure, I shall use this idea on the tree skirt on my finishing table. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
