Circle Attachment Table Runner
3 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
I want to make a quilt from hoffman free patterns, it is called Sayomi, using black/white solids for background and sashing, then use beautiful oriental fabric for the circles. Funny enough this pattern calls for the circles to be appliqued on prior to sashing. So, I start thinking and remember I have the babylock circle attachment to my sewing machine (thanks mom). Matter of fact I had 2 circle blocks started with the attachment so I could make a table runner for my grandma's antique table. Well still had the center block to do.....and like most of us thought VIOLA! I can run a sample using the circle attachment and use it as the center block on this runner. And that is what I did. I used Eleanor Burns method of fusible interfacing, stitched on (last trip around) then placed it on the block, ironed it down, then used the circle attachment again to blanket stitch it to the top. The biggest "fun" was the inside corners of the binding :p talk about challenging. Anyhow, long winded discussion on my pictures aside, here is the close up of the circle appliqued block, then a shot of all 3 blocks, and finally the table :) ENJOY! I love it, it is Beautiful. I have herard of the circle attachment and would like to get one but do not know where to go.

Friendly, the one I have is a babylock accessory, I got it at my local babylock dealer. I have a brother and it fits that. I do believe Viking has one too...and possibly janome.
It is a little pricey, but if you like doing circles it is worth it. There are methods of doing circles without the attachment, but I never tried them cause I had the attachment. |
That is great. Strangely, I just took a class on Friday doing a Drunkard's Path table runner with the circle attachment. I made 8 of the circles today. Love new attachments when I learn how to use them

Love it! Great job!

I got mine at the shop where i bought my Janome. first time she gave me the wrong one though. i couldn't get it to fit for anything. took it back and she ordered me the correct one. the little black cover/knob doesn't stay on the "tack" well so it's not wonderful for doing circles on whole quilts but doing things Quilt As You Go work fine.

I really like all the stitching you did on the circles. It really goes very well with the fabric you used. So pretty, great job.

That is a great idea, as to pattypurple's drunkard's path, it would be nice to have a tutorial if it is not copywrited.
