Hi Indigofab,
The City & Guilds Certificate is an examination that we can take over here in the UK. The category of Patchwork and Quilting has three levels in the category, Level 1, Level 2 and the highest which is Level 3. I have just completed Level 3 certificate - they also do a Diploma course in this subject which is higher than the Certificate. Categories themselves are usually practical and or vocational. With a level 3 it would probably be acceptable to teach an adult class in a patchwork and quilting methods - and could help you progress into teaching children. The City & Guilds institute of London runs courses in 81 countries around the world. So it is a well recognised qualification. There are over 500 categories to chose from. I hope this gives you a bit of an insight into the course. I just did the course for myself..... Don't think I will use it in any way. Hugs and thanks for asking. Caroline

That's a gorgeous quilt. THe border really glows.
Question - what exactly are the C&G's? Is to become certified (for judging, perhaps), or for university credit? |
Congratulations on completing C and G!! Your quilt is really a work of art!!

Its lovely, u are lucky to have been able to do the C&G . Haven't been able to find anywhere close to me in Essex to do it . You must be feeling proud to have achieved level 3, congrats :-)

That is just gorgeous, my sister would love it, where did you get your pattern for the Dragonfly please.
|
Gorgeous!!

Hi Heather,
I created the pattern and the templates for the whole quilt including the dragonfly..... as it is a C&G final piece the quilt has to be your own original design. Hugs Caroline

Great quilt and that pieced border is to die for! Love it but what makes it so special is your selection of fabrics you used in it.

Hi Feline Fanatic,
The fabrics were dyed by me.... another thing we learnt on the course....!
