What a beautiful quilt! I love it. You should be very, very proud of it! I am working on a mini Civil War quilt and am piecing by hand. First hand piecing I have done and it is quite a challange.

It is so gorgeous. I love samplers. I don't think I will ever get sick of doing samplers. I also wanted to do one in Civil War fabric also. It is beautiful and take your time. Note how you are forming a bond with this quilt. That is the VERY best part of making a quilt. The special bond you have with it. It has all your secrets, your dreams, your wishes, your anger, your joy all wrapped up in this quilt and no one knows about it except you. It is beautiful. Edie

laurafet 12-11-2010 10:18 AM

Fantastic! Very Intimidating though. I am no where near ready to attack something like that. Bravo for you!

ragamuffin 12-11-2010 10:28 AM

Just beautiful and so inspiring! I have been collecting the CW fabric for 2 years and probably have enough for 3 tops by now. My Mother's ancestors were in the war and I want to take their pics and the grave stone pics in Arlington, VA and put them into the quilt. The son changed the spelling of his last name so he could be in the same unit as his father. Firl and Firle. I recently bought Bonnie Blue and Windham fabric for $2.59 a yd. in the Lancaster, Pa. area. What a find and there is lots more there. Have to make another trip! You inspire me so much but I have a Jinny Beyer to finish first. Thanks so much for showing it to us.
