Is anyone having fun doing this quilt? If so, I bow to you. This thing is WAY over my skill set and I'm going to be so glad when its done! This picture is Month 9. Ugh!

Very nice job! Looks way over my level too!

sandpat 10-11-2010 05:17 PM

Beautiful block! Looks hard, I agree. I'll have to google the quilt though. I love your fabs too!

Suzan Larrimore 10-11-2010 05:19 PM

It is hard, but I'm learning a lot and having a blast doing it. Month 7 was my pain. It called for odd measurements.

@sandpat....Keepsake quilting is offering it. The original quilt and pattern are from Homestead Hearth.

Lots and lots of 1/8, 3/8, 5/8 and 7/8ths in this quilt.

JanieC 10-11-2010 05:28 PM

I am doing this one too. Just a little behind you guys though thanks for the heads up on the headaches. Looks great!

You block is beautiful. It's more than I could do.

Month 7 wants 16th's of an inch. Although, it also offers an alternative block that is easier.

Month 7 was __________ (insert your favorite swear word)!!!!

CoyoteQuilts 10-11-2010 06:45 PM

You may think it's way over your head, but you sure did a fine job on it. Also, think of all the things you learned pushing yourself with this block.

Thanks for the info...I'll look it up, but I'm doing the Dear Jane now...so I think I'll finish it before I start another one...I love the civil war era quilts.

Well, it sure looks like it would require some serious dedication, and maybe even a margarita, but I love your fabrics, and admire your skills. My thoughts are that you have done a most wonderful job on it.

SueDor 10-12-2010 02:11 AM

Youve done a great job even if it was hard.

Donna094 10-12-2010 03:18 AM

I'm way over my head on this one too; I hope mine turns out as great as yours. I'm a couple of months behind. It will be a beautiful quilt - that's what keeps me going.

I love this block!!! It is so interesting and the movement is great!

CarrieAnne 10-12-2010 03:53 AM

Thats beautiful! The owner of our LQS is doingthatblock right now and said it was a pain! Sure is pretty though!

peyerk 10-12-2010 07:59 AM

I too am struggling with this thing; I think they stayed up nights trying to figure out ways to make this quilt more difficult!! I certainly will avoid any of their patterns in the future.

Wonderful

isewhappy 10-12-2010 06:05 PM

Thanks everyone - the positive comments really help keep me focused on the end result. But I'm afraid my favorite swear word with this project is not "smile" (HA!)

Blue Bell 10-12-2010 06:56 PM

Beautiful block. Great fabric.

amma 10-12-2010 09:13 PM

It doesn't look over your skill level to me, you did a wonderful job on this block :D:D:D

peyerk 05-14-2011 03:28 PM

I finally finished the civil war quilt; and my son and his wife loved it so it is theirs!! I also finished Baltimore Bliss I have a picture of that one but not one of Civil war yet

HomespunHandmaiden 10-11-2011 06:44 AM

What is the pattern for this quilt? It looks like challenging fun ;)
