So Spring break project #2 is on its way... but I am a bit stuck as to how to quilt it.
It is for my cousins wedding...i don't have a long arm or time to send it to one. Stitch in the ditch on the color... or meander/stipple on the white? any ideas? Close up |
Oh that's lovely!!! I'm not good at patterns but I thought stippling in the white areas would be great. Or maybe stippling the colors and maybe something else in the white areas??
I'm just starting MQ, can you tell???? :) |
I've made a couple of those and meandered on the entire quilt. You could use either a white thread or a variegated if you really want it to show on the white.

you can try to do a meandering line on the white sashing with hearts, kind of like a vine.

Pretty colors!

Meandering overall would be very pretty. If you use a darker thead on white, it look spidery. So I would use a light thread not necessarily white. It is hard to see where you have been if you use exactly matching thread, so if you use a thread not pure white or even a very pale blue, you will see it to quilt and know where you have quilted, but it will not show up and take over the quilts or look spidery A very pale varigated would be lovely

Definitely something curvy on the white to balance the strong linear design of the piecing.

I can't wait to see what you decide :D:D:D

I think I would do feathers or waves in the white, meander on the coins.
