I couldn't be out enjoying summer because it stayed rainy and cold all weekend. So I finished the bindings on 2 quilts this weekend. Now I can feel better about starting something new. DH made the "knob holders" for me.

Nice work. I will gladly take the cold rainy weather from you. It is swealtering here in Ky. So hot and humid I can't step outside without feeling sick.

We had quarter inch hail yesterday, along with pounding rain, on and off, all day. My poor tomato plants.

When I showed him the little wooden quilt holders the LQS had for sale for $7.99 each, he said "I can make those." So I said do it. All I know is, he took old 2x4s, cut them, shaped them by sanding, then spent about 50 cents apiece on the screw hardware. Then I found half-priced cabinet knobs in the clearance bin. All in all, it's probably breaking even when you consider the time involved, but it makes him feel good. So that's priceless.

It sure is. Perfect to stay inside and make a quilt.

Beautiful quilts!!!! Where do you live in CO? My friend lives near Aspen -- wonder if it's cold and rainy there, too? ;)

It is raining, raining, rainning all the way across South Dakota. And I sat in the rain all weekend watching soccer at our DGS tournament on the other side of the state.

Where are you from in Colorado? Ditto for rain and cold. Stayed in and done quilting also. I am new to the site. I am from the Denver area

Good job on getting some stuff done.

Hot, humid, sticky here, with a broken air conditioner. Got a call out to the repair guy. I keep telling myself it is good for me. I still don't like it!

CarrieAnne 06-13-2010 06:43 PM

Very nice! Its been a rainy weekend here too!

kasmitty1 06-13-2010 07:35 PM

I'm located south of Colorado Springs. I think all of Colorado was wet and chilly this weekend. Good for quilting, bad for motorcycle riding.

charmpacksplus 06-13-2010 07:46 PM

I spent the weekend indoors sewing too.... but the weather was sunny and warm here. Just goes to show that no matter what the weather does, someone somewhere will use it as an excuse to sew (-:

Very nice!

rootyr 06-14-2010 02:06 AM

Great job on quilts and holders!

beachlady 06-14-2010 03:40 AM

Nice quilts! Cool weekend here, but nice. I managed to sew too.

GrammaNan 06-14-2010 06:22 AM

It's still cold today. I got some piecing done this weekend because of the rainy and cold weather. It's supposed to get into the high 80's tomorrow and stay for the rest of the week. We are not used to this humidity here. Come on dry weather!!!

Kasmitty1, your quilts are beautiful! I'm in the Denver area (Lakewood to be exact) and we had rain off and on all weekend. It's still overcast and chilly. Instead of staying in and sewing, I babysat all Saturday and helped my son move yesterday.

stichinluvr 06-14-2010 07:09 AM

And you sent that rain on into Western Kansas. We were in Limon Saturday and it was rainy all day. When we got home we had about 1.5" of rain. Rain is good though, it means I don't have to water. We'll see if it's nicer this weekend when we want to go to Denver to the train show.

It's been rainy, warm and humid here. I haven't been able to sew for a while. Darn work keeps getting in the way. :-D
