You must be able to do these in your sleep by now Colleen. Do you know how many you have made??? I remember the giraffe one you made for your daughter. That is the first one that brought Bow Tucks to my attention. I was so intrigued by all the versions I had seen that I lashed out and bought a pattern - a first for me. Didn't attempt it for a while as I had other projects to be finished.
I have just finished my 4th bag yesterday. The first one I made for my dear SIL. She loved it and has now given me orders for 8 more for friends who want one too. She says it's not just her friends who are asking about it.- she been stopped in the supermarket and several other shops. So I thank you for being my first inspiration to making these bags. And thanks also to all the others here who have made Bow Tucks. |
can't wait to start on mine, your's turned out great, love the fabric you picked for the second one
|
Beautiful bow tuck purse and I love the colors.

And thanks also to all the others here who have made Bow Tucks. I have made over 60 of these... I lost count ! When you make your bags put 5 business cards in a blank card_(look at dollar store or in joann's dollar baskets) and stick it in the front pocket.. that way when someone is asked about your bag they can whip out a card. look on the vistaprint site because you can get hundreds for next to nothing.. i took a picture of lots of my bags sitting on my table and that is on the front of the business card... my cards are all over the united states and canada now !! I am working on this one because a dgd was over visiting and she insisted i use this fabric before the batik purse...lol dgd always win out in my house ! |
Very pretty! I love the blues
|
Love it!!!
|
Very nice blues! I'm sure she is happy with it!

Love your bow tucks, I've made 4 so far but have plans for more. The larger one is great for a baby bag or for traveling. I like the smaller size too.
I looked at your list of bow tucks and I noticed that you don't quilt the outside of many of your bags. Have you observed any difference in construction besides being faster to make and did you change anything else from the pattern? I love shortcuts. Has anyone had to wash one yet and if so how did it hold up? I love the addition of the piping, is that hard to do? You have a wonderful sense of color combos and your DH too. Keep them coming, it's inspiring. |

I love making these.. if you clicked on page 5 , I posted a bag my grand daughter is helping me do.. it's all about the mood of the day ! good luck with yours and ty for your sweet comments. |
Looks great.

Very nice :-D

These bag's all turn out nice. I have a neice that loves John Deere, so I made her one of them. To each his own, I have made about 5 or 6 of these I also do a lot of Tote bags, with embroidery on them and the person's name.
|

colleen53,
Where do you get your beads? They look like glass rather than the plastic pony beads. |

I am going to get more later today.. i get them at joann's in the jewelry making aisles.. I also get the silver ones there.. big bag also of various shapes..they come in gold as well. when i go , i get silver, gold. and two bags of colors... |
This lady wanted color fully and that was what she picked. If you need to have something special, then it is up to you to find what you like. It is hard to pick a fabric just perfect for someone.
I love your fabric in your blue bag, I have also come up with putting a key ring on the end of some of my bags. I use the hair bands that you can buy in the dollar store, they come in all colors and it is nice to have some place to put your keys. I have also used them on my Tote bags use them for the buttons, for people that one a button on them. |

Do you use the fusible batting on the main fabric and Decor Bond on the lining? |

If a customer has something in mind I let them do the foot work on fabric and then i order it if its online or go get it if its local. That way they are having control over what they want on it..I tell them to pick 2/3 fabrics and then it's in my hands lol |
