I like the gray background better, because the other colors look more natural with it. But for a quilt, it would really depend on the colors the quilter wanted to use with it.

Depends on what is going with it. First impressions, I like the brown - makes me feel warm.
But there is beautiful definition in the grey. Best of luck. We all seem to be divided!

I like the second too. Agree with others about the sharper contrast of color.

I like the brown one. I don't suppose it's flannel? I bought an adorable western flannel and matching bandana print, but have since decided I would prefer at least one more fabric in the mix. This is pretty cute.

First let me say I am a sucker for fabric I would have to have both. That being said the top one says to me Ewing Ranch from the old TV show Dallas the gray says Texas cowboy. What look are you going for?? I love them both
