WOW! You are doing a fantastic job on the coloring and the embroidery. It is going to be one exceptional q uilt when done.

pal 07-02-2011 05:19 AM

Great job! That looks like one of those projects that you never really want to finish - you just want it to keep going because it is so much fun!

Did you wash the fabric first? And did you use plain old crayola crayons - not the fabric crayons?

Homespun 07-02-2011 05:22 AM

very pretty

lorimax5859 07-02-2011 05:23 AM

OMG! I absolutely love it!!

gramquilter2 07-02-2011 05:29 AM

great job on the blocks
this is going to be a fantastic quilt when finished

Mariah 07-02-2011 05:47 AM

Love it! Did you use just regular crayons or fabric crayons? I have fabric crayons but was concerned with the issue of washing and the color coming out.

Beautiful! I would like to try that.

rvsfan 07-02-2011 06:04 AM

This is a totally awesome technique.

cuppi duke 07-02-2011 06:08 AM

That is the cutest quilt. I'll bet it is fun to do.

wolph33 07-02-2011 06:08 AM

wow,I have never seen this technique before, looks very nice

jolo 07-02-2011 06:20 AM

Yes I made this one too. love the technique. My DGD has the pattern now .She says she wants to do one. She did a block on mine and her DBF colored one. Sad to say the quilt went to a burned out family and I felt the girl of that family needed the love in that quilt wrapped around her. Am thinking about making another one. Jo

Awesome blocks.

gmaybee 07-02-2011 06:34 AM

I've done crayon coloring for blocks, but haven't done embroidery on them. Yours are beautiful. I'll have to try this method. Thanks.

quiltermo 07-02-2011 06:39 AM

Yes, I did wash the fabric, it's just muslin altho you could use any fabric, and I did two layers so that the embroidery would not show thru the front. I did use plain old crayola crayons.

grammysharon 07-02-2011 07:20 AM

Ditto!!!

Cutest cat quilt I've ever seen. I bookmarked the website and will consider ordering this complete pattern.

Alexa 07-02-2011 11:16 AM

Very cool! Do you do anything to set the colors? What happens if washed?

lpsewing 07-02-2011 11:39 AM

What a masterpiece.
I would very much enjoy knowing more about the pattern if you'd be so kind to share.

brightstar_202 07-02-2011 11:59 AM

Wow now that is cool. Your blocks are nice and I love the way they blend. Whished I knew how to do that type of work guess Iwill have to put that on my to do list with all the others as well.

You have to press the colors under a paper towel using a hot iron. That sets the color. Then wash in cold on gentle.

What a neat idea!! I remember doing pictures that we framed, years ago....but never thought of making quilts. You're SO
clever!! Wish I could make one with cats on it, for our DL
who loves her cats. (maybe I can find some photos of her cats and start one....she is just learning to quilt and just finished her first wallhanging...she's so excited!!
Thanks for sharing!!

patimint 07-02-2011 03:34 PM

That is awsome. I love to color, I find it relaxing (when ever I get time) so looks to me like it would be a fun quilt to do. You did a great job.
