Completion of Hungry Caterpillar Quilt
3 Attachment(s)
After working hard for 2 years, I've finally completed the Hungry Caterpillar quilt! This quilt is specially dedicated to my daughter Eponine as a special heirloom to remember her childhood days, for she loves the story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. It's a single bed quilt which finishes at 64″ x 92″, my biggest project so far! It seems impossible to even complete this as it's so huge. I'm glad that I managed to do FMQ on my home machine without having to send it to a longarmer!
I'm happy to admit that my FMQ has improved tremendously after completing this. It just goes to show that with practice and perseverance, everything is possible! :) |
Neat quilt and great job on it!

Adorable bright and cheerful quilt for a sweet little girl.
|
It is perfect!

Beautiful quilt for a beautiful girl. What a wonderful way for her to remember her favorite story. I love the quilting too. I would do an Owl and the Pussycat one for my daughter, if I was a nice mother!
|
Great job! And I'm sure your lovely daughter will treasure it.

Great quilt--Eric Carle is a favorite.
|
Very nice!!! My friend made one and cut a circle hole in the quilt as if the caterpillar ate through it. Omg, it was so cute. I bet stitching the binding on that hole was a job in itself too.

What a wonderful thing to make for your daughter! Your kids are beautiful and so is the quilt.
|
Very pretty quilt, and beautiful daughters.

I love your quilt and you have done a very good job of putting it together. Thank you for sharing.
|
Thanks to all for the compliments! I love the colours too & feel so joyful putting it all together. It could have been finished much earlier, just that I spent too much time fighting with the quilt under my small domestic machine & struggling with FMQ. Such a big relief to finally complete this!

Really cute!!!!

What a wonderful treasurer for your daughter!!!!!!!!! And how great that you were able to "stick" with a project for two years.
|
Very nice. Well worth the wait. Love the bright colors!

Gorgeous quilt! I'm sure it will be cherished!
|
Just in time for the 45th anniversary of the book! Today, March 20th! Hard to believe that book is as old as it is. Can't imagine how many children have been exposed to such a classic! And the quilt for your daughter is priceless, as is she. Good job Mom!
