The blocks are 12" x 1" concrete purchased at Lowes, but Walmart has them as well. First a concrete sealer is painted on and the each piece of the pattern is painted over that.

We have these on 1/2" treated plywood with drain holes and 2 x4's split in half for the borders.

That's terrific!! That's such a nice idea.

Kalona, Iowa, the self-described quilt capitol of Iowa, has a quilt museum surrounded by a quilted sidewak. I would LOVE to visit there!

3M corp. now puts out a laminate for concrete and such that will keep the paint from wearing off.
