This was made with charm squares leftover from another quilt. The bright colors didn't work for that quilt but I thought they'd be nice for a baby quilt. Never thought I'd do a quilt with 1-1/2 inch patches but here it is. Just the top as I haven't yet quilted it but thought I'd share since we're doing WIP. I plan to do an allover meander with variegated thread.

I love this baby quilt. Impressive coloring and design.

Could you please explain how you did it... did you take a strip of blue (wide) and a strip of a colour and sew them together, then cut to the size you wanted? Would have to do that several times as there are several colours... that is the only way I can work out what you did... unless you sewed the colours on to the blue singly... !!!

http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-111462-1.htm Then I made larger 4-patches from those and the blue. Alternate the angle of the colored patches in these blocks. If this doesn't make sense let me know I'll try to post an EQ7 drawing when I get home. (Yes, I'm posting from work  ) You can PM me if you like. |
Very pretty ~ great colors for a baby.

Here's a diagram that might help. In the upper left I've outlined the two basic blocks. Two little 4-patches and two plain squares in each block. Just arranged differently to get the diagonal setting for the quilt. |
I knew that every four patch had to have more than one blue block... but just how it was done puzzled me... many thanks.
|
That's a great one with the big block matching the 4 patch so that you only use 1 main color and scraps.
