well the corduroy top is finaly readty to get sandwhiched.
It has been an experience working with it for a top and definately it will be heavy. Will probably just stitch in the ditch but not sure. Any sugestions |
Is the whole thing corduroy??? You are a brave lady! Sorry I don't have any suggestions--stitch in the ditch works for me!
|
It sure looks good. Was it like flannel to sew or more like denim? You did a real good job :D
|
It is all corduroy. Sewing is a combo a little like flannel but seam areas are like denim to get through.
All the black corduroy is going up and down and is 21 wale The blue is going side to side and its 11 wale It has been a challenge right now without the border/binding its 76x86 |
It turned out very pretty! I bet it almost twinkles when you move around it! The wale of the corduroy is kind of an added bonus for those stars.

Wow :!: Very nice work :D i might do one after i finish my other two projects. yoya |
Connie,
The quilt looks greAAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!Can't believe you finished is so quickly. Stitch in the ditch or tied would be fine. Great colors!!!!!!!!! |
I wish I could feel it. It reminds me of the wonderful heavy covers at my grandmother's house. Sunk into a featherbed, pinned down by the covers, it was nearly impossible to get up in the morning. :)

the only thing to do with a heavy quilt like that is stitch in the ditch lovely
|
Ohhh it turned out beautifully!!! What will you use for batting? Anything special due to the weight? It really is an awesome quilt!!!
|
I agree with BeBe...tie it would be my choice...how lovely it is and I bet it will be really warm :!:
|
Very pretty - will be a good wintr quilt if it is so heavy
|
great job......... it'll be very warm too
|
DH loves a heavy quilt. Was going to do denim but your corduroy idea is much better. Thanks!
I think I'd take it to a longarm quilter & let her worry about quilting it  but tying it would be cheaper. No way would I try stitching it on a regular machine. GREAT QUILT    |
that is really pretty!! I cannot believe you made that out of corduroy-it must way a ton!! I think quilting in the ditch would be great.
|
Connie, Knowing you have the frame and machine combo to make your work easier, I can't imagine that you would take the time (and back ache) to tie that quilt. I would think your machine would do a good job. Maybe do some special little designs in the centers of the stars???
It really turned out to be a very pretty quilt. And yes, I bet it twinkles. Knowing how corduroy has a way of changing colors because of the nap, this should make a special illusion depending on how you look at it. Beautiful job! You are always doing great things. Keep up the good work.......girlfriend!! June |
Beautiful work. The colors are great and it sure will be warm.
