I live on the Illinois/Missouri state line. I am so use to corn fields and am happy when its harvest time! The corn grows "as high as an elephants eye" (as the song goes) and at the country intersections at stop signs its hard to see as you drive. The corn fields block our vision! lol
Guess you who are not from the midwest aren't use to seeing cornfields! |
When we go through Iowa to Minnesota, we go on Hwy 18 and see lots of Barn quilts, it is such fun

That is a good way to do it. H!

That farm house looks so much like the one I lived in as a kid on our grape farm in NY state. I keep staring at it...what memories!

Fons and Porter have a store in Winterset, Iowa in the town square. So quaint- you have to stop and see the Rexall Drugstore and the Courthouse building- all in the town square. You can tour the birthplace of John Wayne- just a couple of blocks away. The farmhouse where "The Bridges of Madison County" was shot used to be open for tours. Don't forget to check out all the covered bridges in the area too. I love stopping in the Winterset area when we are traveling thru Iowa. :)
