Finished the borders tonight! I'm really happy with this one and it's for my bed so I'm keeping it.

After a design change because I didn't have enough of two of the fabrics it developed into one I like even more than the first. I don't have any ideas about quilting yet but maybe something that looks like the paisley swirls in the border fabric.

Beautiful! It's a keeper for sure! Do you know what the block is called with the large triangle block in the middle?

zz-pd 02-03-2010 10:03 PM

very nice!

Not sure which block you mean. The one on the left is one I drew in EQ6 just because I knew the shape I needed. I did a quick look in EQ6 libraries and don't see anything like it. It's just a cross between a HST and a Four X in EQ6. The other is called Sugar Bowl in EQ6 but I can't find it by that name anywhere else.

Very nice, and I like that Sugar Bowl block. I'll have to look for it in EQ6, once I learn how to work it!!!

I can't wait to see it quilted! Glad it's a keeper!

You've never seen it because this is it's debut! :-P Hmmm, it does remind me of fancy stationery, I have some in pink roses.

I'm sitting here thinking of names... Victorian Sweets? Victorian Letter? Then I think, French Envelope? Uhhh.... not that one!! How many people do you think would know what a French Envelope is?

Boxer mom 02-04-2010 07:22 AM

I love this quilt, the pattern is beautiful. Is there some place I could get this pattern?

I created the pattern so there's no place to get it. I am working on writing it up though it's very simple. I just wouldn't write it up like many patterns would be done and saying to "cut 10 7/8" squares..." for a 10 1/2" half square triangle. I cut them at 11 1/4", sew them together, cut apart, and then square it to 10 1/2"

I do that to most any pattern I use, make parts a little larger. I did one that had hundreds of 3 1/2" HSTs and there was no way I was going to do that many and think that they were all going to be the same size. I did the squares at 4 1/4" and squared them up after sewing.

Boxer mom 02-04-2010 07:59 AM

That will work for me. I don't like doing the small one either.

Bevanger 02-04-2010 08:20 AM

Thank you. :) I think that's the best border I've done. I centered the pattern repeat at the same point on the 4 sides of the quilt so that they all end up at the same point on the corners. The paisley swirls are all running the same way around the quilt and the 4 corners all look just about the same.

littlehud 02-04-2010 09:33 PM

I loved that quilt and it just keeps getting better. I can see why it's a keeper.

Loretta 02-04-2010 09:50 PM

You bet I'd keep it. It's beautiful.

Cookie64 02-05-2010 09:10 AM

Hey neighbor, beautiful quilt and I would keep it too. I lived in Antioch for a long time.

Haven't decided on quilting yet and I'm not experienced AT ALL in long arm. I have a few continuous line stencils, probably some small enough for the blue squares. Maybe an overall design on the rest.

Hi neighbor... I lived in Antioch for about 15 years. I see you're in NV and I lived in Las Vegas for a year when I was 18.

Hey gals, I am from Las Vegas, from '65' to '82'. I miss the heat believe it or not.

As far as the quilt maybe she could just stitch in the ditch on it.

mytwopals 02-09-2010 02:01 PM

Very pretty, Pam. I see lots of feathers in you very near future. Practice up on them. They would look very nice on this quilt.

hcarpanini 02-09-2010 02:11 PM

Very soft and feminine. Pretty quilt!

Sugarpumpkin 02-09-2010 02:32 PM

Oklahoma Suzie 02-09-2010 03:44 PM

very nice.

pittsburgpam 02-09-2010 03:50 PM

I might be working on quilting this soon. Yesterday I received 3 backings that I ordered, including some beige tone-on-tone.

I don't know about feathers, I've never done any. I can barely do an all-over panto. That would look nice though. :-)
