Cotton Theory Method table top

Here is my 1st attempt to do a table top quilt as you go with the "Cotton Theory Method". My friend and I are doing it together following the instructions in Book One, It's working piece by piece ;). We have done it in steps (2 weeks ago we did all the cutting), so I have no clue the time we have involved. I like how it's coming together and thought I'd share with other fellow quilters. Has anyone done this method before? Lots of folding, ironing, and quilting as you go. Sorry if the photos are a bit blurred....I like the price of my dumb phone, but the quality of a smart phone might be better. ;)

Love your table top quilt! I have the book but got stuck picking out fabrics!!!

Looks like you are having fun and will have a neat quilt to remind you of the fun. Colors look good together.

Thanks! I hope to work on it a bit on my own this week. Maybe get it done to show off on Thanksgiving.

You are doing a great job! Something I want to try one of these days! It'll be very pretty when you get it finished!

Very pretty. I have a book and tape on that. Haven't tried it yet.

This is another one that is on my bucket list -- that list is way too long! You are doing a great job.

Looking good.

Good job! Like others I have pattern - but haven't tried it yet-maybe 2014 will be the year it gets tried. I like the look of the finished product.

Very nice. Can't wait to see the finished project.

Looks good to me, beautiful!!!

You're doing beautiful work. I have made five graduation photo quilts using this method & have two more to go. The quilts are really big & this method makes it easier to work on them. I don't have (or know how to use) a longarm. Still trying to learn FMQ!

Great job....

Made one two years ago, same pattern, fun, love that it's reversible.
Can't figure how to post picture

bepositive 11-26-2013 05:53 PM

VERY pretty - it looks like it's fun to make too! :) :)

Very nice. I took a class and made a reversible bag. It's quite challenging.

crafty-kid 11-26-2013 08:34 PM

I have a class on Monday to make another table topper. This one was done...trial and error. I completed it now just need to finish with the binding...it sounds like there are two options to do that too. Ha.....I might try a new style of binding too. I'd like to try a quilt using this method....I like the look and feel of the finished product, but feel it's more wasteful. IDK for sure though.

I finished. I think the Cotton Theory method was fun to do and I would do it again. Actually on Monday I have a class to learn it, little background never hurt anyone! :p
