Looks very similar to bento box with the center just a little different.

I think it is warm wishes

pattypurple 01-08-2013 05:54 PM

Not warm wishes. ? disappearing 9 patch?

DebraK 01-08-2013 06:12 PM

It struck me as bento as well.

I agree, I just saw that on a blog not so long ago. Just make the bento box pattern and cut off center. Use the directions in the blog below but make both cuts off center. (2nd installment on the blog, you'll see)

This is exciting ... as it is my quilt!
Here's the original thread where I posted it ...
http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...e-t202102.html

I made it a few years ago in a class at our LQS using the Slash-A-Stash.
I checked that link to the other blog, and yes, that's pretty much how it was made.
The off centre cutting of the block would be the way to get the effect created in the blocks.
Then sew them all together.
And have FUN randomly laying the blocks into the final setting.

I'll look forward to seeing your quilt ... I hope I don't miss it, when the time comes!

THANK YOU! for making my day!!!
(or perhaps I should say, night! :))

Here's a tutorial I've saved that I think explains it, especially for a scrappy version:

Oh, that was another fun one to follow. Great you found each other; and I love the quilt too.

Oh..can I ask if you remember how many fabrics you used and the yardage.

Honestly, I have no idea! I just pulled from my stash for fabrics in the same general colour scheme and went from there. And the yardages somewhat varied, according to what I had at the time.

I looked at those two blogs and yes, that gives you a good run down on the how to! Sizes of course, could be changed, if you want. I've seen the same pattern done in florals ... oh so lovely!

Good Luck!
