Cowboy Baby Quilt
1 Attachment(s)
My cousin is married to a bareback rodeo rider. They just had their first son and I had the joy of making their new baby a quilt. I steered clear of the normal baby boy tones and incorporated a horse applique. I was a bit nervous about that because I wanted to use the minke from the back of the quilt in the applique to make it fuzzy and soft. Not only did it work better than I imagined, but I also used the minke to applique his name, Cayuse. His mama and daddy loved it, non-traditional colors and all.

Very cute!

What a unique & precious baby quilt. Looks like Cayuse loves it too.

Wow! Wonderful!

Such a unique quilt for a little cowboy. Both precious.

I looked it up in the 60 pound dictionary. It's a tribe in Washington State, now gathered somewhere (eyes are bad) in Oregon, or an Indian pony. We always used it to mean a wild horse and we put an adjective in front of it: nasty cayuse, unbreakable cayuse, etc. Worst one we ever had was named Hemi. That's short for hemmrrohoids. He'd unload you on any pile of nail filled lumber he could find.
I hope that little boy grows up healthy. |

Wonderful baby quilt...I’m sure he’s going to get many years of cuddle time with his quilt.

I love non-traditional colors for kids...this one is cute and appropriate ! (Tiny little cutie there in the middle.)
