Cozy flannel comforter
1 Attachment(s)
My son called a couple weeks ago, wanting to know if I had any quilts on hand for sale...well, uh, no...he needed one for a special wedding gift for special friends next month..sorry, a quilt can't happen that fast...at least for me...but I could do a flannel knotted comforter...great...okay, so I quickly worked out a plan..,ordered all the fabric online...started cutting the same day it arrived.. now it's done! With time to spare...took me about 5 evenings to knot it while watching tv...its all Maywood Flower Patch Flannels and Woolies Flannel.love that collection...really liked the result, really didn't want to part with it.

Oh I love that!! It looks super warm and cozy.
Aren't our kids funny? Especially sons, they are so clueless! :D |
That will be a well received gift and I am sure that the couple will love it. Very pretty.

I really love this...so very pretty - love the colors.

Very pretty gift. What a great mother you are.
very nicely done
Way to go, mom! :)
Great solution! Tied quilts are very cozy looking and I love that black floral fabric!
Oldquilter, about how big are the flowers on the black flannel? It's so lovely!
The blocks started out at 8 inches, if that helps on size..just love that collection...hard to track down, may not still be made...went searching on eBay, for the flowered and the blue checked.
Love it. The first quilt I made was tied. Kool Mom. BrendaK

Maywood Woolies is so plush! Good job!
You REALLY knew what you wanted, didn't you? It is wonderful. I love the colors too.
It's so pretty. It'll make a great wedding gift. What a special mom you are to make this. Then again your son knows or he wouldn't have asked......
Very pretty and the lucky couple will love it.
Congrats on your finish with time to spare! My son also asked me for a flannel quilt. I have 2 questions about your flannel choices...did you pre-wash it and did you use flannel for the backing as well as the quilt top? I didn't know if it would be too heavy using on both sides. Thank you!
It's very pretty and it looks very cuddly. They will love it.
oh that does look cozy.
Love this, it looks soinviting!!
I don't pre-wash but I do make a care label, asking them to wash in cold water...and yes, I used wide flannel backing, and used ultra lite batting...still makes a heavy winter quilt. Previous projects have all washed well.

Very nice quilt. Great work and it looks so warm and cuddly.
I did find it, but wanted to know the size of the actual flowers on the pattern. Superior Thread has about 6 yds! Thanks for reply!
Nice quilt. Glad to see someone besides me still tacks instead of quilting. I prefer puffy quilts.
Love your floral print and the cozy quilt colors. Way to get after it, Mom!
I can see why you didn't want to give it away. It's such a pretty quilt & so inviting....saying "come cuddle under me"!
Like it and the knotting! Wished I knew how to knot!
I measured the flowers...the largest are 2.5 to 3 inches, including the leaves.,,there's also that same print, only with a beige background...still some of it out there floating around, too..Maywood Flower Patch flannel
