My friend, Marilyn, doesn't sew but needed a gift for someone who crafts and does a lot of decorating for other people. When Marilyn asked me to make her a toolbelt, I got right to work because I can see making one for myself. Anyway, this is what I've come up with. It took me most of the afternoon (I kept improving on my design) but I think they will be pleased. I will now make one for myself, but I want to make it just for quilting--no need for a hammer!

What a neat creative idea.

Thanks Janie, I wish I'd thought of it. Marilyn is just the kind of person to think of things like this for other people. Guess that's one reason I love her so.

A very cute idea! Why no need for a hammer? I once saw a sewing machine repairman take a hammer to my sewing machine while trying to fix it with me right next to him. Needless to say I never went back to that man or the LQS if that's the kind of "authorized" personnel they hire to work on our babies. I have an older White sewing machine(she's 45+yr.s old), but that didn't give him the right to take a hammer to it.

Come to think of it, I do use a hammer to put in snaps and eyelets. But I don't know if I want to walk around with a hammer hanging off me all day. I wore the toolbelt for about 10 minutes and that small hammer started to weigh me down! No I'll stick with those items I actually use everyday and that I need in more than one place. Suggestions?
