That's quite an honor little mousie!!That is a better reason to be remembered than other things I have done in my lifetime!! LOL

I expect pictures along the way!! Would love to see your pretty fabrics you are going to use! What kind of embellishnents? This is something I have never done much of so it is fascinating to me to see people do this.

Since I have never done anything like this before, it will be interesting to see what I come up with. hmmm....
I like this idea for these fabrics, bc it will only come out once a year...so no worries about fading...a little more delicate, so won't be used a lot, and I do love shiny!!!

Yes, I think all mice love shiny things...!

K...how ya' comin' on these blocks??

Thank you, quiltincrzy, for the nice idea you had that gave me a great idea to use w/my satins, sequins, etc. I can't wait to get N2 now! lol. Those satins sure are waiting for us, quiltncrazy!! We can work them in one block at a time throughout 0-10.!!!

hey, since I'm a newbie at some of it, do you mind getting your brain picked sometimes? Maybe we could 'con-FAB-ulate' on our blocks and embellishings?:D

Sounds good to me!! OMG, there'd be so much embelllishing going on we wld hardly see the FAB-ulations!!! With both of our brains together, we'd bound to come up w/some kind of "ulation" hahaha!

I wanna see! I wanna see!!! With all this talk of Fabulations now you started something!!! I might have to try this myself! Tho the next two are alread designed and they don't lend themselves to this. Maybe in Feb! Yeah I have alot of jewelry to decorate stuffed hearts with so that would be a good time to play with this for my DQ.I just love my Teatime DQ and moosegirl did a lot of embellishments on that one. I loved it! Hope I can do something half as good as hers.

QC I can't wait to see what you and n2scaplvr come up with!

C that sounds just the ticket! When I'm ironing the interfacing onto man mades I use a medium setting and just leave it for a couple of seconds, check if it's stuck, couple more seconds if necessary. Then leave it to cool completely before touching it.

OK - here's my first finished embellished block and the second one in progress. It's taking a long time because I have to keep looking through my embroidery books for inspiration - sometimes I've copied an idea exactly but mostly I use something as a springboard then make up the rest as I go along. The chain stitch fish for example, started being a vine, became vaguely fishy shaped so ended up - a fish! :-D

I've used beads and silk ribbon as well as couching down some other ribbons from my doodad box!

First block done!

Close up of fish - the cat hair is a nice touch, I think!
