Good grief is this thing ugly! LOL I think it's hideous and very creepy but my 4 year old daughter was obsessed with this thing when she saw it on the cover of my grandmother's quilting magazine that I inherited.

I finally gave in and made it this afternoon. I'm laughing because it's just so stinkin' ugly and creepy!! LOL

I used the first bunch of scraps I laid my hands on in my scrap bag. Then I pulled out one of my 6 year old son's fleece baby blankets and cut it up for the backing. No batting.

On the plus side, it's all recycled - even the button eyes and thread came from other projects. And.. I was able to use my grandmother's quilt design templates to make the hearts.

But I can't stop laughing at how creepy it is! LOL

What a great mom that you made your daughter a creepy cat (rofl). She will love it and that is all that matters; look at those hearts you put in it; came from your heart. Creepy, but made with love!!!

LOL It is a bit creepy, but if DD loves it, isn't that all that matters? :D:D:D

Ahhh.... it is cute!!!!

I can't stop laughing!! I put it on her bed so she'd see it when she wakes up, but now I'm wondering if it's going to scare her! LOL

Your daughter will remember this quilt long after other things have been forgotten!

I must not see it how everyone else does. I don't see creepy at all. All I see is a block with some ears and eyes at the top. :) It's kinda cute!

LOL. It is kinda creepy and soooo funny but if she loves it that is all that matters.

I can't believe I just said for all to see that someone's quilt was creepy and funny.................

There were other ears to make other animals like bunnies and puppies and sheep. I think the bunny was cute. But something about this cat weirds me out! Maybe it's the colors and the eyes but no mouth.

PamQuilts - I'm glad you think it's cute :) I think it has the potential to be cute. Maybe a mouth would help?

Maybe I'll try a bunny next and make it larger. This is only 12" so it isn't much of a blanket.

Well, all that matters is that SHE loves it. Somebody has to love the poor little thing!!! :lol: :lol:
