Cricut and quilting
2 Attachment(s)
i have spent the afternoon having fun with the cricut and cutting out appliqué shapes. It's been a big learning curve but I think I got the hang of it. Some of these are quite intricate. What you guys think?

Very pretty shapes - nice fabric selected for them, too.

Thank you! Just scraps :)

Very pretty!

How did you get it to cut fabric?

KSellers,
You must use something like ultra bond on the fabric you want to cut. After you have applied the ultra bond peel the paper off the back and apply the shiny side down on the mat. Make sure your mat is good and sticky then use painters tape and tape down the edges. I used a carbide blade that is used to cut vinyl letters. The settings on the cricut need to be blade depth highest at 6. Speed high and pressure max. The bigger you make the shape especially when intricate the better. You cannot cut tiny intricate shapes it will just rip the fabric. Hope this helps let me know if you have any more questions I will post more pictures as I am making a block for each season. Elizabeth oh yes the red ultra bond does not require stitching down the pieces just don't put it in the dryer :) |
Tartan,
Thank you I have been trying to figure out how to cut fabric on the cricut for ages. All those utube videos made it look so easy :) elizabeth |
I was wondering if it really does work! I haven't tried. Thanks for sharing
