Someone posted a picture of a rag rug not too long ago, so I thought I would give it a try....hadn't made a rug since my aunt taught me how to braid a rug with old nylons when I was a child. It seemed like I sewed together hundreds of yards of 1-1/2 inch strips of scrap fabric! This was a labor intensive project.

Love your crochet rag rug.

Love it! I crocheted a huge round one out of large jute once. I'll never make that mistake again. I tried making one out of baling twine but it ate my fingers even worse. I just wanted to see if it was possible to do.

Nice rag quilt. How do you keep all of the thread fragments from showing. I always wanted to make one.

I cut (or tore) 1-1/2 inch scraps, sewed them end to end, then ironed it in half....which helped some to keep the frayed/cut edges from showing.
