Well, since this is my crochet day (I have Christmas projects all over the place :-) ) I thought I would share the blankets my boys are getting for Christmas. Colton's is about 4'x5', and Nic's is going to be a full twin size blanket whenever I finally finish it. I'll get his laid out and a full size picture up when I get it done.

Beautiful! I crochet also and like to switch between projects :)

Ah well, in this case, it's more because if I don't, I will have one very upset 8 year old on my hands. I figure the FIL would understand better if I had to give him his unfinished and tell him he has to give it back so I can finish quilting it! :-P

Do you give crochet lessons? I can do single & double crochet only :-(

It's really not that difficult; variations of single and double crochet were all that were used in either of these blankets. The first is what is called filet crochet, which basically means that you make a grid of double crochet and chain stitches, filling in select blocks to make a picture.

The other has a stitch called a cluster stitch where basically you start a dc and only pull through a loop once, then when you've got six loops on the hook, you pull a loop through all of them. That's probably not the best explanation, but you can find it online.

Gorgeous! I wished I could crochet like that.

Haven't crocheted for years...used to do a lot, but now quilting takes up all my spare time. I love the filet bunnies and hearts...very nicely done and the green is really lovely.
