Crumb Quilting Triple Play with twist
2 Attachment(s)
A friend sent me the link to Jenny Doans tutorial, crumb Quilting Triple Play. I have all these quilt of valor scraps, so I started making blocks, but I made mine 12 1/2 inch squares. I got tired making the blocks, so I decided to make a Star sashing, although it looks like blue X’s here. Jenny didn’t have sashing so that’s why I titled it ‘with a twist’ my twist on her idea. I needed it at least 60x80. This ended up 68x82 so I can give it to a veteran once it’s quilted. In first photo it is on a queen sized bed, on top of my Lone Star waiting for me to quilt.-lol- By the way my smallest pieces finished at 1/2 inch square and 3/4 inch long skinny strips! I pinked my seam allowances so all those seams won’t fray or ravel out.😩 Have a nice day, Toogie

That's so nice! I really like it and it looks like it would be fun to make. I"m going to have to check out that Jenny Doan tutorial. I love her tutorials.

I love how all the little crumbs come together to make one cohesive block. Great job.

That’s a lot of crumbs toogie…it will make a nice QOV donation. Smart idea about pinking your seams and great idea to add the star sashing, it gives the quilt another spark of interest. Great job.

Wow, another great quilt out of scraps. I do like them and I admire those of you that do this, but scraps tend to overwhelm me and anything smaller than a 5" sq. or a 2.5" strip goes in the trash or is donated.
