Yes, you sew block by block. I stack them up and then do them.
Yes, fold it over again so you won't have a raw edge.
Acually you can make any size you like. That's the size I came up with. They sell hexagon shapes also. Just make your back one 3/4" larger to fold over and sew. Hope I answered all your questions clearly. I'm so glad you like my quilt! Thanks!!! Jan

Yes, It's self binding. I don't know if it's English paper pieceing or not. It's just slip stitched together. Thank you for the comments and I'm glad you like the quilt. It really was fun to do and it looks so pretty on my bed. Jan

No, it's not Stack n Whack. I just sewed from point to point to hold everything together. Your flowered fabric would look real nice for the hexagons. I've done One Block Wonders that use the 60 degree ruler. That was great fun too. I did two of them. The pics are on here somewhere. Thank you for your comments.
