It is the garage floor but it has become my sewig room, and it is quiet the room, I would put something ont he floor but then it is harder with the pics and such. I am thinking of getting some of the sift quishy mats, we will see, Then I would have to move them when I was trying to clean. I promise no quilt was hurt in the taking of the pictures, the quilt is now safely in the house.

There was no where else that was big enough to hold all of the stuff and me to. this way I have room for me and a friend or two. I was sewing in the house last summer and it near drove me nuts,

cutebuns 07-19-2009 10:40 AM

The first file is the direction for making the quilt if anyone is interested in doing one.

Did you ever see the movie "How to Make an American Quilt"? When they got it finished, she had it wrapped around herself walking down the driveway, dragging it on the ground!!!

Lacelady 07-19-2009 11:09 AM

It's stunning, I love it.

Yarn or Fabric 07-19-2009 01:09 PM

Please tell me you did that in strips and not in individual squares. That is just mind boggling - and beautiful but oh my that just looks like a ton of work but so worth it in the end. Just stunning!

It is all individually pieced, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, the hardes part is doing the squares with the x in them as there are 60 of them, after that it is a piece of cake becasue the rest there is only 15 of each.

had I focused I probably could have had the top done in about 4 to 5 days. there are a lot of pieces, but they are small so they don't take long to do, that is my story and I am sticking to it.

With the cutting directions given with the pieces for one block you can easily do just a lap quilt or something, and maybe narrow it down to one or two of the secondary blocks as well.

barnbum 07-19-2009 03:07 PM

Very pretty!!

cutebuns 07-19-2009 04:58 PM

cutebuns 07-20-2009 04:23 PM

So, I am wondering how many quilts that I am going to be seeing done out of this pattern, I hope when you get them done that you post pictures,

To be honest I was not sure that anyone would want to make a quilt that I did. It makes me very happy to see the response to it.

So thank you all.

It didn't take that long really, I was recovering from surgery last year when I did it, so I could only sew bits at a time, it was a therapy quilt,
