This is the first quilt I have made in over 2 years. I made a few boo boos but that's alright. There were alot of firsts on this quilt. 1st D9P, 1st prairie points, 1st time using flannel for the backing and no binding on the ends. The prairie points came out cute, I will use them again. The top didn't lay flat very well and thats from stretching my blocks when I ironed (lesson learned. haha) The actual colors are brighter than whats in the pictures.
It's a baby quilt front and back. The colors would have been better if I had taken the quilt outside. Heres one of my mistakes. haha |
I like your color combinations and prairie points on the edges.
Nice work!!!! Please don't be so hard on yourself. The baby will love the colors and enjoy feeling the prairie points. I always use pre-shrunken flannel for the backing. It came as a suggestion from my hubby who said the backing should always be cuddly soft :D |
Very nice! I think baby and mom will both love it!!
|
Adorable! This one will be treasured!
|
Lovely quilt despite the challenges.

Your quilt came out really cute!! I love the prairie points. You did a wonderful job with lots of firsts.
For those of you who cannot open the bitmap--here they are in jpg |

That turned out great!!!

Thank you Marcia, I left the cord to my camcorder at my mother's house. I've been trying to get my sister to send it to me. I've been taking pictures with my phone and sending them to my email.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I've made this quilt for myself so i'm not worried about the boo-boos. Hubby and I are trying to start a family. Hopefully it's not to late for us as I am 34. Can't believe I told the truth about my age!

Very cute!

Your quilt is adorable and looks very 'cuddley'. I like the prairie points!
And try not to worry about hurrying to have a baby. Many women wait and/or establish careers before they start a family. You will love that 'little bundle' no matter when it arrives. |
Thats beautiful...great job :D
|
Lovely quilt, and success on your goal!
|
Such a pretty quilt!! Wonderful spring colors too!! The prairie points really set it off beautifully.
crkathleen not to worry about starting your family at this age kiddo, I had my middle child at age 38 and my youngest at age 40. There's still time  |
Thanks everyone! It's hard not to stress about getting pregnant :) I just need some patience. My mother had my sister and I (twins) when she was 36. Twins run heavily in my family (I think 13 sets right now - doesn't skip generations!) and my husband has a set or two on his side. My grandmother was a twin, my mother had twins and my older sister had twins! I hope I get equally blessed! (Yes I am crazy!!!) So while I wait I will make my baby quilts in pairs!
|
Love the quilt and the points.
I would like to make this myself. Did you do your own quilting? Ps. I had my one and only child at 36, so your not to late. |
That is just so sweet...you did a great job!
