This is a row by row scrappy sampler; a modified Debbie Mumm pattern that I started for my Dad, but he died before I could finish it. Left to go: three borders (two really narrow and one wide). The basting/quilting/binding are a whole 'nother story. But this is a major milestone I wanted to share.

So sorry your dad didn't get to see it; it is wonderful. I lost my dad when I was 18 and so wish he could have seen me grow up and share in my wonderful family.

Lovely quilt............it will always hold a special meaning in your heart!

cwessel47 12-11-2013 08:26 PM

I really like what you have done so far. The bow ties are really well placed for moving your eyes around the quilt. Keep on going!. It will be done before you know it. And daddy smiles down at you with love.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Love your quilt and every time you look at it just think about your Dad looking down at it too. I worked on a quilt for 2 yrs. while sitting by my Mom's bed in a nursing home and am just going to get it quilted after the first of the year and every time I look at it I will be thinking of my Mom as she passed away before I could finish it.

kwiltkrazy 09-21-2016 08:26 PM

that's a really neat quilt. I'm sure your Dad would have loved it.

osewme 09-21-2016 10:34 PM

That's a beauty & will be a sweet reminder of your dad each time you see/use it. So sorry he did not get to see it finished in his lifetime but is smiling on it & you now.
