this was my first attempt at a log cabin. Not nearly in the league with Karls's beautiful one but dad was very happy with it. :D

Thank you for your kind words. :D it isn't colors I would normally put together but do think it kind of gave it that "manly" look. Bought the greys and blacks to put in it but the others was scraps left over from other projects.

That IS very pretty!
I agree with Karla...that's a manly man one whereas Karla's is going to be a girly-girl.

barnbum 02-19-2009 06:02 PM

No, Terri--not girly girl...earthy girl.

What size strips did you use? I'm planning a log cabin to be started sometime this year (after completing 3 other quilts already started) lol.
I do love your colors. Gives me ideas for my son. I'm making him a rag quilt with denim from old jeans and really heavy duty flannel I bought years ago. On several blocks I've put an applique. Turning out very nice. I'm not looking forward to the snipping. The rag quilt is for covering up on the sofa. I'll make the log cabin for his bed. Thanks for the info.

A bonus for your father, besides having a wonderful quilt, is going to be seeing the fabrics in other quilts, since so many are scraps! A wonderful combination!

delma_paulk 10-31-2012 06:45 AM

Your quilt is beautiful!
