just threw this together the last couple of days. I sure could have done a better job but at least it got me back in the mood to sew. I didn't use a pattern. Was inspired by a quilt picture that someone on the board posted. I wish I remembered who it was so I could give them credit!! This is the first quilt I've made without using a pattern. Kind of stressful!!

Thanks everyone. I forgot to mention that the larger rectangles are cut from 5" charm squares that I won for completing the local shop hop last June.
So this was a very cheap quilt to make. The charms were free, the green leftovers from another project. All I bought was the sashing and border fabric. 1 1/4 yd at $4.99 and I used my Joann's 40% off coupon! I do need to buy the backing and batting but that will come later. Probably with coupons. Or if I wait til my trip to my moms in April she will probably buy me more batting. I love my mom  And the reason I called it Darcy's pick is because my DD Darcy picked out the pink I used for the sashing and borders. |
Looks great !! ;-) You did a great job !! ;-)

Great job! Very brave to do without a pattern. I have found that it is good to get out of our comfort zones and stretch our skills.

Not half bad...Not half bad at all. You did a really good job!
Most of mine don't have a pattern either. It feels good to throw CAUTION TO THE WIND! |
