Darth Vader

Good Morning,
I think I first saw this quilt on this forum but can't remember. Went to Pinterest and they have many "pearlized beads" patterns. You know those beads you put together and melt with an iron. So I made this quilt from one of those patterns. It turned out quite large since I used 2.5" squares. I used a paperpieced pattern from Craftsy to make the label. 71" by 81" Now to gift it to the young man who loves Star Wars. Now let's see if these pictures will be upright and not sideways. |
Way Cool!! Yes indeed.
|
That is cool! Great quilt.
My son in law is also a Star Wars fan. He loves the stormtroopers, so I'm making him a sampler quilt with stormtrooper fabric for his birthday in October. I actually had the Boom group do it. I sent in stormtrooper fabric to everyone in the Boom block swap. Made about 10 additional blocks myself. |
Perfect for the Star Wars fan. Clever of you to convert a pattern for those beads into quilting!
|
nicely done

Great job! Wonderful quilt for a Star Wars fan.

Neat! Someone is going to be really happy with that!
|
Just what any Star Wars fan would want! It looks great.
|
Great looking quilt. Wonderful idea to use a bead pattern -- have used a bead pattern once to do a plains Indian quilt for a friend since I could not find fabric that worked. One bead = one square and you are off and running. Great job.
|
I know several people who would join the Dark Side and steal this quilt!

Great quilt. Never thought of looking at bead patterns.

You did a fantastic job! I know two young adults who would love this quilt! I'll have to keep in mind the pattern you made this from. Quilters are so talented when it comes to making our own patterns from things we see.

That is just "too cool". My adult son is a huge Star Wars fan and collector. I made him a Darth Vader Quilt, but still need to quit it. Things have gotten in the way,but I will get it done. I used black polished cotton to me the Darth Vader head.I used various "Star Wars" fabrics for the borders and backing. I love your quilt and I am sure the young man will too. Thanks for sharing.
