Last year my DD and her sweet hubby bought and restored a l921 Carftsman bungelow. She is trying to do all her decorating in an old style, and loves the vintage fabrics. I made her a little rose wall hanging with a single rose, figured she would put it in her craft room, but says it is for the dining room. Wants a table runner of the same pattern. The dining room has the original built-ins painted white with the drawers and cupboards, and she "shabby Chic-ed" it with a power sander, and now it matches the white dining set she sanded down. Looks very nice, even tho' it isn't my style. (Husband has the patience of a saint. But when her father reproduced the same built-ins in the living room around the fireplace, he said "definately not" to sanding them and making them look old.)

Judy,

You and I definitely do think a like. I have used that same flower looking thing in an applique.

I love the runner, especially how you frayed the edges.

So pretty! I love the shabby look, but in my house it would never fly..my DH works with raw metals and it is greasy..thus all my furniture is dark lol

Very pretty, I'm not much on the making new or good looking stuff look old or battered. Just me.
