What a pain, too many seams to match.
There are a couple of places that I need to redo, put the borders on, etc. This is what I have so far |
Looks like you are doing a wonderful job on this. I think its wonderful. Keep going girl!
You've done a great job! What is the name of the pattern? I like it!!
You're a brave soul for trying it It looks good from here
My brother asked me for one of these for Christmas. I made one for my bed about 2 1/2 years ago, and now I'm not looking forward to making another. But, he's my little brother (second youngest out of 9 in all and I'm second oldest) and he just graduated high school this year so I'm going to go ahead and do it. Keep going, you're doing a great job and this post is very encouraging, pushing me to start it before it's too late to get it done in time.

looks beautiful sew far
It looks great; like an optical illusion. It also looks very difficult to make! You're doing great!
I like it and think you are doing a great job!
nice quilt blocks
Is it really hard, she makes it look so easy on TV, I was going to try this one next, but maybe I will rethink it. You like you are doing an awesome job though.
This quilt is on my list of things to do . Please keep going, you are doing a beautiful job. I am trying to finish some UFO's before I tackle this one. Thank you for sharing.
Looking good so far! Keep up the great job!
I think you're doing just fine. Be kind to yourself and don't obsess so much. Take breaks when you need to. I'm telling you this because I want to make one myself, and I need to think of encouraging words to remember! LOL

I am working on this too! At the moment I am still cutting out the triangles. On her dvd she cuts so quickly and easily and gracefully. Even with a brand new rotary I am still having to stop and snip with the scissors. I am fearful how the piecing is going to go. I love the look of the pattern. Keep plugging away at it and let us see it finished.

AngelaZ I cut a few strips out and sewed them together, 1/4 seam, I found that it was tight, NO room for error. The next piece I cut out was the 2 inch strip and i added just about 1/32 to 1/16th to it. (one stitch line) Instead of cutting an exact 2 inch, I moved the ruler over to the right, a tad, just where I could barely see the strip on the left side of the strip and they came out much better. I also found that if I started sewing from the small red, (center small circle) I could control matching the seams better. Spray starching as I went along also helped. |
I did this quilt and loved doing it. You did a wonderful job! Be proud!
Looking good. BrendaK

Eleanor Burns Day & Night is one of my favorite patterns. Good job! Looks great.
Looks good to me, keep up the good work!
very nice and I thought it was a simple quilt but then challenges are what I like
Wow! Great work, glad you shared with us.
I've also done a day & nite, made it a queen size for a wedding present. It was time consuming, but worth the effort in the end. Keep going, you'll really like the result.
It surely is painful to do, but well worth it! love yours!
Hi, I have done some of Eleanor burns quilts,... you are right way too many seams to match, it takes alot of patience.
I had to stop doing her projects with so many seams to match, The last one I did, I send off to a friend to finish. |

You are doing a beautiful job on a very difficult (at least for me) pattern!
you have my UTMOST respect !!!! thinking about that piecing makes my brain hurt !!!!
Oh i love that pattern, but better you than me.
It's gorgeous!
Stunning quilt!
I finally have my triangles cut. I hope to get a couple seed together this weekend, but it is WI state fair and we usually go 4 - 6 times. We know the Wi State Historian and we like to be there for him. ..We also like the fair and it is more enjoyable in small spurts of time. With working full time, time is a precious commodity. Thanks for hints on sewing them together. I can tell that I am going to have to be very careful sewing them. It is a very tight fit.

Cool quilt!
Looks like a real challenge but well worth while as it looks fab
totally neat quilt! Funny, when I scrolled my mouse down, it changed! Optical illusions make neat focal points when they are not moving!
It looks wonderful! You're doing great! :)
