I made my DD this quilt for her friend and co worker. She has ovarian cancer. Her prognosis was not good. She has been taking chemo treatments and last week they did the surgery, now they say with the rest of the chemo they think they have gotten everything and she will be fine. Prayers have been answered. They all wore rain boots to have lunch with her so you can see the fabric I found with rain boots. She is also a big KU fan otherwise I used my stash. It is an Elenor Burns pattern called "Twin Sister" in her all seasons book. The back is white with a strip of piano keys so everyone at work can sign it for her. I also made a pillow case to go with it. She can now lay or sit with comfort.
I finished this quilt at the cabin looking out at the lake on my 440 Bernina. I just quilted in the ditch for this one to leave room for signing on the back. Comfort quilt on my bed at cabin close up of quilt blocks. |

It's beautiful and she'll love it. I have a good friend that had stage 4 ovarian cancer and she is going into her 3rd year of decent health. There are positive stories sometimes. I pray she's one of the fortunate women who have a recovery and long survival.

It's Beautiful!!! As a Cancer Warrior (thought I was a Survivor but it came back, have to kick it's but again) it's the folks like you and your daughter that keep us going. I've been fighting Stage 3 Breast Cancer for 3 years. If it wasn't for the people around me who help keep me up, keep me motivated, I would have given up. Especially after one treatment nearly put me in a wheelchair.
PPPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAASE keep your support coming for your friend, even when it may see that she doesn't want help, that's when she really needs it the most. I'm here are incredible words to hear. |
