I have 4 dogs so to protect my couch I made a simple quilt from recycled denim and corduroy .hperttula123 quilted it for me in a trade.I quilt but only stipples and swirls-she is more artistic.she did a great job and my couch will be protected-I just need to bind it.

Nice Quilt! I have been thinking of doing one myself, but I have been worried about how difficult the seams would be to work with.

It was extra work but I top stitched them all flat and it worked out great

Ive been collecting denim to do the same thing. I think I'll do it brick style so I don't have to worry about the points coming together (does that make sense??)

belmer 02-13-2011 11:03 AM

Love it and the quilting is beautiful!

I have a mountain of old jeans that I've been collecting for a quilt. Thank you for showing yours and for the tip on stitching the seams. I'm newly inspired and may get it done this year!

Naturalmama 02-13-2011 11:06 AM

I want to see a pick with the dogs ON it! :D

Jo M 02-13-2011 11:18 AM

So that's the way to do it! Thanks for the tip.

I have made denim quilts for all the nephews when they graduated from High school. Now 20 years later the quilts are wearing out and one in particular wants another one! Good job on yours and thanks for sharing.

It made a world of difference when quilting it, with the top stitching. It turned out great and so glad you like it. Hope the dogs like it too!!! :)
