I realized lately that I have never made a quilt for DH. He uses all I do make but none have been just for him, so with our 25th anniversary approching in August I decided to make him one all of his own. He likes to snuggle on the couch with a quilt. Here is the top. It is a camp quilt. we have a camp in the woods where we go to fish and the bears like to tear bits off of on a rugular basis, so I used pine and bears and fishing fabrics. I hope he likes it.

Very, very nice. Disappearing nine patch?

He is going to love it,Happy 25th Anniversary
He's going to love it! What are you going to use on the back?
Yes DP9. I am going to peice the back but the binding will be the bearpaw print.
he has been watching me all weekend peicing it. He has not asked anything about it. I really wonder what he is thinking. |
It's so great. Your hubby will love it! Happy anniversary!
Nicely done! I'm sure he'll love it.
It is really beautiful - and he will be surprised when he finds out it is a quilt of his very own!
Very manly!!! Love it!
it's a great quilt... very manly. he's sure to love it!
He will be very pleased. Happy anniversary.

Very manly quilt and very nice thought. Where did you find the pine cone fabric? My son works all over the US and misses N Mich a lot. A bit of that in his birthday quilt would remind him of home.
Beautiful, he will love it.

He's going to LOVE IT!
OH, I think DH will love it!! I love the fabrics you used in this one. Is it flannel? Looks so nice to snuggle under!! Good job.
That is perfect
I love your DP9. The colors and your choice of fabric are perfect. What size squares did you start with? I made one but I started with a smaller squares, so I had to have more blocks. I loved doing this pattern.

No it is not flannel. It is all cotton but really soft cotton. I started with 6.5 inch squares. So 18 inch nine patches so when they are cut apart and then sewn back together they ended up 17.5.

Great quilt!

Pretty

Your quilt is beautiful and love the 'outdoorsy' fabrics you used. You should let us know what his reaction is once he is given this gift of love.

It will be a while. August 24th is our anniversary. I peiced most of the back with the 6 inch blocks of the same fabrics except for the bear paw. That will be the edging of the back so I can pull it around to the front for the binding. I will show you a complete backing when I get it done. I am also going to use thinsilate batting. it should be very warm.

He's going to love it! Very nice!
He watched me make this for three months. He saw it dozens of times and never asked who it was for even though it was obviously a man's quilt. I just figured he knew and didn't want to spoil the surprise. He had no idea!!!! I guess this is the definition of hidden in plain sight.
Was he surprised to learn it was for him? It's beautiful!
Yes he was. So funny. I thought he was much more observant then that.
pssst...Fez....where did you get the pattern for this? I wanna make one with my sewing fabric!
I sent you a link on your sewing themed quilt thread. This one is a cinch
Oh how sweet. He will love it. I made my husband a tiny wall hanging that I did a bit of hand embroidery on for our 13th wedding anniversary for this past August 29. I put our date of our wedding, anniversary, little blue double wedding rings with a secret significance, and entwined hearts with God above us, and a daisy with a bumble bee above it, which is also relevant.
Great job!
I love the colors and textures in it! He should be thrilled!
Happy Anniversary! I'm sure he'll LOVE it!!!
