DH flannel quilt

Hello everyone. Last Oct or Nov, I asked for advice on making a flannel quilt. I had never sewn with flannel before, and you guys gave me lots of great information. Well, I've finally finished it for him (just in time for spring!) and I thought you might want to see the results.

I pieced and quilted it on my vintage Viking 6570 whose photo I simply cannot upload for some reason. At any rate, I decided to keep the quilting simple, mainly because it's fairly big, so I went with SID vertically. In the center of the 6" blocks, I did a graceful serpentine stitch for variety. The border got two rows of straight stitching but I tried something new for the binding. Since I already had a serpentine stitch in the body, I went with a smaller serpentine on the binding to echo the body. It turned out pretty well. Hubby says he likes the "color palette", so I guess he has been listening!

Very nice quilt, and I, too, like the color palette.:)

Wonderful looking quilt. Will be good and warm on those cold winter nights. Great job.

Thanks for all the kind words, folks. I couldn't have done it without you! And to be fair, DH chose the colors ... except for the cream. He wanted all darks, but I had to lighten it up a bit. Still, all in all, it turned out well, and he is as snug as a bug in a rug.

I like everything about this quilt and I'm sure he use it a lot!

All flannel quilts are dangerous!! I made one for our family room and who ever wraps up in it, falls asleep! Best program in the world on TV and that quilt just knocks you out. . . .

Very nice blue quilt.

Very nice quilt and soooooo snuggly looking. Your DH will love it even more when the weather is cold. Flannels are my very favourite quilts and I always back my bed quilts with flannel. They stay on the bed better and are so cozy and warm.

Oh it's lovely. It looks so soft and warm and cuddly.

It's a great quilt. It looks very cozy, and I love the back! Your husband has to admit that the cream adds a lot of interest. At least I think it does.
